ECTOPLASMIC STUDIES 6/09/2024 Docklands

Ashley J Higgs presents ECTOPLASMIC STUDIES with Forbes Hawkins, Abe Dunovits and Mito Elias, in the current Sonic Poetry Festival in Melbourne, on Friday 6th September 2024, Multipurpose Room Docklands Community Hub, Level One 912 Collins Street, doors opening 5:30pm Event ends 8pm - free entry.

Musicians in this poet band have performed collectively together for over thirty years, combined with veteran experience in their own musical and artistic projects.

Higgs has poet-led bands, Black Vineyard, The Magick Trousers,  Sordid Pensioner, Scale Ensemble, Ambulance Stalkers, and Main Mom Talk.

ECTOPLASMIC STUDIES will be original, free improvised music, with found text, sound, and raw libretto song cycles - new music never before heard, in this rare one night only performance.

Ashley J Higgs, Forbes Hawkins and Mito Elias performed together for the first time, in the premiere Sonic Poetry Festival, in City Library, 2023.

 This performance is dedicated to the loving memory of Australian sound and concrete poet legend, Peter Murphy. Rest in poetry, Peter.
