A.Maiah is the moniker of Asier Pérez Basterra from Basque Country - A.Maiah is a guitarist who has been involved in the Basque underground music scene since the late 90s and has been part of the post-punk and noise-rock bands Exhale, Erizo, Nitxos and Viva Bazooka and collaborated as a sideman to Broke Lord (musical project of the galizian writer Luis Boullosa) and Minimal Punk Spoken Word (spoken word act by the renowned Basque punkrocker Iñaki Urbizu “Pela”).
On RE:Act, Asier joins forces with Spanish drummer, producer and plastic artist Pablo Mata. The result is a delightfully cacophonous explosion of sounds where noise-rock, post-punk, and free improvisation coalesce with ambience and electronica. Releasing August 18 on lim-edition CD and digital DL.
