Shadowland: AV Experience in Old Munitions Facility 'Jack's Magazine'

Shadowland is a one day only site specific experience not to be missed, with live sound art performances; including a secret noise choir, an audio-visual performance by industrial electro-acoustic duo Surveillance, and a curated art exhibition all inside the structure of an old munitions facility.

Steeped in the history of gold mining and two world wars, and nestled on the banks of the Maribyrnong River, Jack’s Magazine was only decommissioned as an ammunition facility in the 1990s.

Shadowland evokes these ghosts of Footscray past with artists exploring body, ritual and place through the use of scent, project, light and Virtual Reality. Immersed in near darkness, these live Audio-Visual and experimental vocal performances will draw your attention to each aspect of this multi-faceted installation.

Sessions last 75 minutes approximately and are at strict capacity. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the Shadowland of Footscray’s disused weapons facility.
