'Four sound sculptures' features recent small works by Australian sound artists Mimi Kind, Clinton Green, Ernie Althoff and A Demon Sheen. Filmed on phones, the works are studio-based tryouts, quickly documented as the need arose. The works share a common interest in low-budget re-appropriation and experimentation, variably repetitive textural outcomes, and a generous tablespoon of good humour. Pure repetition with these devices is impossible, and that is not a fault. Rather, making use of their erratic (apparently ‘dodgy’) behaviour is an aim.
