Linden New Art dedicates its space to sound art for the first time

Lucrecia Quintanilla

29 June – 1 September, 2019
For the first time, Linden New Art will dedicate all of its exhibition spaces to sound art. Sound art has gained increasing recognition over recent years and this Winter Linden will present three solo shows that demonstrate the diversity and surprising physicality of this genre.

For Linden New Art curator Juliette Hanson, “Showcasing the work of three female artists aims to recognise the work of women in the field of sound art, as it is a space too often dominated by male practitioners.”

Mona Ruijs

The three artists, Cat Hope, Lucreccia Quintanilla and Mona Ruijs will provide visitors with far more than just what the ear can perceive. These artworks will provoke bodily responses caused by their experience of low frequency vibrations and walls of graphic notation that come to life when played.

26 Acland Street, St Kilda 3182
Opening: Friday 28 June, 6-8pm

Exhibition dates: 29 June – 1 September, 2019
