La Mama Musica - Mon 22 April 2019

NO MAN’S LAND
No Man’s Land is a duo of Pippa Bainbridge (voice, prepared guitar, pedals, projections) and Swiss Van Kalken (electric bass, found percussion, pedals). Together they make atmospheric drone, drawing on influences such as Byzantine chant, industrial, found sound and minimalist music movements, to create live performance rituals and audioscapes rich in Australian folklore.

NAIMA FINE FINE with DEBRIS FACILITY, SAGE PBBBT, KATHERINE PHILP & ERICA RASMUSSEN
Composer Naima Fine Fine and experimental practitioner Debris Facility use found, gleaned, purchased and created objects to build sculptural 3D scores onstage - viewed up close by audience and musicians via live projection. Sage Pbbbt (vocals), Katherine Philp (cello), and Erica Rasmussen (percussion) interpret and perform the scores live-time as they're created. An exploration of composition as performance, compositional (im)permanence, and the possibilities of sonic interpretation of 3-dimensional work.
