The Guardians of Gary's Garage - a video by Ernie Althoff and John Campbell

Artist Gary Goodrich has lived in the same house in McCrae since he bought it in 1975. In that time, he has accumulated an elegantly exotic and vastly varied collection of objects, effectively making the collection an artwork in itself. He contentedly relocates the pieces to establish new visual relationships, much in the manner of German artist Kurt Schwitters.

The music was composed and performed in the mid-1980s by Les Gilbert, playing a Yamaha DX7 keyboard synthesiser. Les (1946 - 2021) was a musician, sound recordist, composer and multimedia company director / producer. We thank Gillian Chaplin, the copyright holder of Les' archive, for granting permission to use his recording.
