The Xhabarabot Voice Machines, led by Indonesian artist Rully Shabara (Senyawa) in collaboration with Australian artists Brian Fuata, Abby Sundborn and Jocelyn Tribe will present an evening of improvisation showcasing the diverse application of AI Voice Machines. This project will play with varied methods, styles, and instruments to delve into the potential of these new technologies. In anticipation of the main event, a workshop will be conducted with the artists, to dive deep into the creative processes and techniques involved in working with Artificial Intelligence and voice. This ensemble work explores artistic possibilities inherent in the intersection of new technologies and musical expression.

Also performing on the night is internationally renowned Peruvian artist Ale Hop. Based in Berlin, Ale is an artist, researcher, and experimental instrumentalist. Her music blends electronic and electroacoustic elements, incorporating noise, pop, avant-garde, and ambient influences. Using extended techniques for electric guitar and real-time sampling devices, she crafts performances marked by physical intensity, layered distortion, and captivating atmospheres.

Her solo journey began with a Red Bull Music Academy residency win in 2012, leading to her debut in Boiler Room. Recognized by outlets like Pitchfork, WIRE, and VICE, she has showcased her work in prestigious festivals including MUTEK, CTM Festival, and Heroines of Sound. Her performances and exhibitions have spanned various countries, including the United States, UK, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, and Turkey. Corin Ileto presents her Lux Aeterna Live AV performance featuring music from her recently released album ‘Lux Aeterna’ (UIQ) with accompanying visuals by video artist/director Tristan Jalleh.

Lux Aeterna (translation ‘Eternal Light’ in latin) is a speculative fiction named after a choral work by Gyorgy Ligeti that appears in 2001:Space Odyssey - Ileto is inspired by Ligeti's use of micropolyphony, a compositional tool in which harmonies slowly merge into one another over time, creating amorphous alien-like textures that bend and mutate. Sounds imagined as sentient beings - each sonic element taking on a life of its own. Industrial textures become embodied creatures swimming through space, like sentinels.

These themes are reflected in the visual world created by Tristan Jalleh. Apparitions of android machinations. Swirling sentinels. Debris suspended in space, momentarily forming then collapsing again into an abyss. The eternal light that already encompasses us brings us closer to the heavens.

Food on the night will be available from the popular micro-celebrity 'My Name Chef'.
Wines from Little Brunswick Wine Co.

This venue is wheelchair accessible.
