Footscray Sleepless Festival - 2024 artist callout
Sleepless Footscray Festival is a non-profit community arts festival celebrating Western region talent in music, performance, installation, and visual art.
The two-week festival boasts a diverse array of events, including day festival-style music shows, immersive experiences, shop front activations, Extended Reality (XR) works, theatre, comedy, film screenings, and art installations.
Applications for the 2024 Footscray Sleepless Festival programme, which will run between 4 May and 19 May 2024, are now open to artists via our website.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The mission of Sleepless Festival is to encourage the activation of arts in the heart of Footscray.
We transform unused and unconventional urban spaces into hubs of performance, art installations and community engagement.
For our 2024 programme we will be providing successful applicants with micro-grants of up to $1,100 for performances of music, theatre or comedy; or immersive experiences and up to $500 for installations and visual arts.
We are looking for unique projects that showcase the diversity of Western region and wider Melbourne.
Sleepless encourages artists and musicians of all levels of experience, all walks of life, and any discipline to apply.
Successful applicants will also receive mentorship sessions from our volunteer team of professional industry specialists in the logistical aspects of hosting their events and/or installations.
