‘Mazes of the 13th Moon’ by Yes Selma and ‘The night of an animal’ by Saowakhon Muangkruan and Manop Nakornchai out today

 Ramble is exciting to be releasing two experimental recordings from different sides of the globe today - ‘Mazes of the 13th Moon’ by US artist Yes Selma and ‘The night of an animal’ by Thai artists Saowakhon Muangkruan and Manop Nakornchai.

Mazes Of The 13th Moon by Yes Selma is the solo project of Chad Matthew Beattie, The 13th Moon features 2 extraordinary, free-wheeling dulcimer soundscapes that fluctuate between minimalism and maximalism, etherial and clatter, music and noise.


Drawing on artists such as Laraaji, Charlemagne Palestine, Powers / Rolin duo, Tony Conrad, and Eliane Radigue, Yes Selma also invokes images of the mountains, rivers, skies, and dreams. Tune in and tune out.

The night of an animal ( ) by Thai experimental artists Manop Nakornchai and Saowakhon Muangkruan. Manop is a free improv guitarist based in Bangkok and an integral part of the underground music scene in Thailand that includes the Bangkok Street Noise group. 


Saowakhon Muangkruan  is a cellist based in Nakhonpathom, Thailand and takes inspiration from society matters, life experiences and she cajoles her instrument with decisive strikes and loops. 


The night of an animal is 6 tracks of duo improvisation from two of South East Asia’s most expressive improvers that runs the gamut of beauty to brutal. The pair have a wonderful balance of expression and the interplay between the two is sublime.
