Two Sound Sculptures by Ernie Althoff

 

Ernie writes that “these two combined works are typical of my technical re-appropriations and explorations of chance-based procedures. The trio 'Hexa and Penta meet the Plastics Platform' follows the first item, 'In the shed'. This machine appears on my CD, 'Symmetry marred by impulse' (https://shamefilemusic.bandcamp.com/album/symmetry-marred-by-impulse). Hexa and Penta use bent stainless steel rods, a new material in my toolbox of resources. The videos were filmed in the first half of 2021.”
