New video from John Campbell and Ernie Althoff

"We banged the drum slowly" is a video of imagery taken from a 2006 painting of the same name by Melbourne artist Peter Neilson, photographed by Viki Petherbridge. Ernie Althoff created the Image Sequences, and John Campbell did the Sound Design and composed the music (Nov 2020). The video contains brief excerpts by Bob Dylan - "Bob Dylan's Dream" (1963); a traditional melody known as "The Green Fields of France" or "Willie McBride", arranged by Eric Bogle for "No Man's Land" (1976); and Kurt Weill - "Alabama Song" from "The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny" (1930). The Bogle and Weill pieces performed by John Campbell.

Several ominous and foreboding strands of narrative are framed by snaredrum punctuation. The paperchase (or is it Conceal the paperchase?), very topical at the moment, ends in darkness and imminent conflagration!
