The follow-up to last year’s longform sound project HYNØRV, WYMN is a two-part improvised guitar project recorded on International Women’s Day 2020.
The tracks, recorded straight to tape at The Jam Shed, Preston are meditations on the women who have been role-models in AW’s life. In an ongoing effort to break from tired tropes of femininity as fragile, passive and deferential, these tones and signals are intended to instead position these interactions as challenging, confronting and transformational.
