POP SMEARS II
in 2014, buttress o'kneel invented the Pop Smear: a piece of well-known music squished to a much shorter length, then stretched out again to the original duration. depending on the tool used to stretch the piece back out again, the resulting Pop Smear is either a glitchy granulation, or a misty reverby blur, where the notes and pitches are the same as the original work, but the plosives or percussions are destroyed.
in 2019, she's finally done it again.

"The results are startling: songs that are immediately recognisable, and
yet estranged, as their notes and tones exist as before, but any sudden
sounds - drums, stabs, vocal plosives, etc - are blurred into granular
grindings, or wafty reverse-reverb cloudiness. [...] familiar (and unexpectedly
eclectic) songs are transformed into dense dreamscapes of surprise and
memory, interrogating the boundaries between nostalgia and reality."
