This instalment of MIUC transports listeners to a time when
friendships were forged over the mere mention of Merzbow, when noise
rock didn't just mean drenching garage in too much reverb, when it
wasn't entirely clear what music was. If you've ever wondered what
happens when you blend a theremaniac sax skronker, a
psychedelically-flailing octopus with a mic lodged in its throat, a
low-end rock-dog and a bafflingly diverse blast/beater -
Farnsworth/Kidney/Ritchie/Smith have a proposal for you. Terrifyingly,
adulte terrible Erick Mitsak has been asked to assemble a group of
performers for any questionable/nefarious/intriguing means he would
like, and has come back offering ''children's story book time for kids
aged 3-9'' (gulp). And Daggers Mid Flight is the suffocatingly sludgy
conglomeration of two bands from Rocktober 2013 - Hotel Wrecking City
Traders and Spider Goat Canyon - promising even denser, brutaler,
turn-it-up-to-11er aleatoric madness.
