This week at MIUC is further contribution to the ongoing communal
exposition on improvised music, as five of the finest stalwart
make-it-uppers congregate for an evening full of audial euphoria via
sonic rapture. Ever-evolving commander of wind Christopher Young makes a welcome return to Bar Open alongside young percussive upstart & Melbournian curatorial flume Leo Kavanagh for the unique opportunity of a first-time aleatoricollaboration. Two turntablism doyens, namely Clinton Green and Paul Wain,
smash together their variously mechanically interventionist and layered
everythingcore approaches in a flurry of tears, flares and chirps sure
to make Grand Wizard Theodore proud. And Gearoid Brinn,
Melbourne's string-stroking multiple-pickup master/volume pedal
virtuoso, offers up a solo venture into the sonoverse replete with
harmonic peregrination and a blurring of the lines betwixt attack and
decay.
