This week at MIUC we warmly welcome back one of the most wondrous
improvisers Melbourne has ever produced, and roister the occasion with
three of his diverse collaborators/co-conspirators. Anthony Pateras and Marco Fusinato
reanimate the charred corpse of dual-flamethrower noise unit Poletopra
for the first time in three years to once again systematically
obliterate all sonic fields into a dark, black nothingness. Both Pateras
and Fusinato will also individually flex their dominion over the more
brutal prospects of the sonoverse, flinging string and/or electronics to
the far reaches thereof to liberate the extremest of frequencies right
into your encephalon. Aural enigma Frances Plagne
provides the experiential antithesis of the aforementioned racket,
disseminating ethereal abstractions amidst graceful musicality as both
audial palate cleanser and profound listening odyssey. And Erkki Veltheim
dusts off the ancient aleatoric tome that is Shit to the Spirit,
summoning the misophonic one-man meta-metal monstrosity cobbled together
with vitriolic violin, detritic drums, gas-masked grunts and raw
revulsion.
