Tuesday March 18th @ the Make It Up Club

This week at Make It Up Club promises to be a Brobdingnagian night of liberated textures featuring three consummate Berlin-based soundwielders, fourteen Melbournian improvpundits and countless sonoversal possibilities. Aussie expat Julian Percy (aka Ratbag) manipulates detrital objects and guitar strings, French expat Yvan Volochine speaks through his computer in a language known as Supercollider, while Sean Baxter manoeuvres alien junk and drummed resonance - all in the singularly diverse pursuit of audial brutality. Locally cultivated post-folk doyen Ned Collette offers up a rarefied set of frangible tones and spontaneous audial dialogue with long-time collaborator, percussive prodigy and MIUC stalwart Joe Talia. And the perpetually metamorphosing Ren Walters-assembled THIS Ensemble swells to a bumper lineup including national treasures of experimental music, invigorating new-wave instrumental interrogators and the expression of extemporaneous elation through both sound and movement.
