This week's edition of MIUC features a large collection of some of
the most vibrant and exciting young soundmakers engaging with the
spontaneous music idiom in our fair city at the moment, including some
diasporic dudes who have not graced the Bar Open stage in some time. The Phonetic Orchestra was created by Jon Heilbron
(who has spent the past year expanding his sonic palette in Berlin) as a
vehicle to explore contemporary approaches to composition,
improvisation and non-standard notation systems. On Tuesday they will
present two sets of somewhat-structured aleatoric interaction, and one
example of absolute electroacoustic disenthrallment, and with the likes
of the undermentioned performers this is certainly one night improv
lovers will not want to miss.
