Douglas Quin is a composer, media designer and naturalist. He holds a Ph.D. in Acoustic Ecology and has received numerous awards including, 2 awards from the National Science Foundation's Antarctic Artist and Writers' Program. His music and soundscape projects have been recorded on LP and CD, as well as performed at numerous festivals and venues and broadcast internationally on radio.

Also of interest is Audio Engineering Society session with Douglas Quin on Technology, Techniques and Approach to Natural Soundscape Recording, exploring the changes in his use of technology and techniques for location recordings over more than 2 decades. It will be held at Swinburne University of Technology on Thursday 30th June 2011 at 7.30pm in the Engineering Building, level 1, room EN101. The session is free and all are welcomed.
