Ash Wednesday - Bar Open - 23 June 2011

(forwarded from Neumusak):
---------------
Neumusak is excited to present original Melbourne (via Adelaide) post-punk icon and current member of Einstruzende Neubauten member (and has been for the past 14 years), ASH WEDNESDAY. In Melbourne for a one-off free show, with support from maverick Mexican sound artist, Jorge Ramirez - next Thursday (23rd June) @ Bar Open in Brunswick St, Fitzroy!

Having been a member of The Models (when they were good) and Crashland in the 80s/90s, among others, Ash returns from committments in Europe for this free show, promising to perform his audio-visual set which he describes as taking "an improvised tonal journey into the unexpected, into the unknown, perhaps, into a here and now where vibration paints a picture, a cerebral dance. Sound synthesis meets music concrete". Got it, get it!

Supporting him for this one night is touring Mexican audio-visual artist Jorge Ramirez, using a unique blend of these mediums. Jorge is in Melbourne for a short visit as an extension of his tour through Asia. Some sounds and visuals from Jorge can be found on his website: http://www.jorge-ramirez.com/

Lucky openers will see a rare Melbourne performance by AD Machine & Co's Merge Into Stripes.
