Tuesday April 5th @ the Make It Up Club

Three unique solo improvisers this week at the MIUC, each engaging with electronic abstraction, but through singularly refined methods. Utilising the Pure Data environment to create original digital synth patches with visual repercussions, Richie Cyngler generates layered improvisations by mapping the programs to unusual controller configurations, such as gyroscopic sensors and graphics tablets. Richard Pilkington, a longstanding performer in Melbourne's underground, dark-electronic music scene, will exhibit some of his latest experiments in abstracted sound art gestures in an improvised context. And jagged ex-Osakan electro-analogue maestro John Harte, performs a new solo project entitled Armpit or Arsehole, incorporating his interests in extreme metal guitar and fractured analogue electronic processing.
