This week, we feature two very special guests from Osaka, along with two of our favorite local iconoclasts. One of the most interesting performers of the new Japanese noise/performance scene,
Harico specialises in unusual instruments in unconventional guises. Her recent use of contact-miced sewing machines has been a cause-celibre in Tokyo and Osaka.
Cuckoo (from
Psychedelic Desert, amongst other innovative post-onkyo-noise projects), is a master of the abrassive drone-cut and is joined by local absurdist and sonic-forger,
Shaggs. And, thanks to
WIFE for subbing for
Nic Tammens (family committments in Tassie), who feature the two geniuses behind
Gulag Projects and the new and amazing North Melbourne artspace,
KIPL,
Samaan Fieck and
Eric Demetriou. • Harico (sewing machine)
• Cuckoo (bass and electronics) and Shaggs (electronics)
• WIFE, featuring : Samaan Fieck (genius) and Eric Demetriou (genius)
