Tuesday February 1st @ the Make It Up Club

A bumper program at this week's MIUC, with sounds from across the hemispheres (including 2 special groups from the USA). Nat Bates (the visionary director of Australia's premier sound arts festival, Liquid Architecture) unveils his latest explorations in spontaneous musique concrete structuring. A first-time duo collaboration between two of Melbourne's finest and most voracious explorers of abrasive, abstract noise, with Bonnie Hart and Nik Kennedy. From Hoboken and Brooklyn Heights, Night Toilet is the duo of Matt Vanek and Jordan Thomsen, creating abrupt, stinging volleys of carnassial noise composed of found sounds and stilted voices projected through the strained capacitors of battery operated, Orange micro-amps. And from Los Angeles, Metal Rouge, the free-floating, free-noise, No-Fi post-loftadelica duo of Helga Fassonaki and Andrew Scott.
