Rob Curgenven

Europe-based Curgenven's live performances involve a specially prepared dubplate (vinyl recording) and its use within an integrated system of subsonic feedback from ventilators, acoustically gated binaural microphones, modal micro-variations in guitar feedback, field-recordings from across remote areas of Australia and the live, physical interplay of the turntable, dubplate and stylus - combining to create a field which moves beyond the original recordings and their individual spaces. Based on his new release OLTRE, which has had excellent international reviews. Turntabling with a difference.

The Doubleother

'spent years - in parks strumming acoustics in - pubs banging electrics, all waste & mere memories; now to re-re-invent a bastion, youthful expression transforming angst into midlife anguish, grow damn you/but/how, pick it/up, can't touch it/but/need to, make a chords/why, the sounds of/it/it's, want nothing/romantics/remain - chains, on the essence/of electricity and metal' but worry/not it's only (just, in) and (seim-eon)-al as 'thedoubleother' doubled electrics [no holding]. In other words, dualling guitars from Simon Howard and Justin Bull.

Force Fed Smile

treated loops that try to become song's yet fail in the attempt and become a psychedelic dreamscape. Sounds by Tim Townsend.
