Tuesday February 23rd @ the Make It Up Club

This week, two duos exploring the intersection of abstracted sounds inspired by musique conctrete and the avant classical tradition and the fluidity and angularity of contemporary noise-based improv. James Rushford and Joe Talia have been lauded around town as one of the most exciting collaborations of recent times. Utilising viola, percussive objects and electronic processing, this duo has achieved a unique group-sound complimented by sublime interaction. Lazy is the longstanding duo featuring Melbourne improv luminaries, David Brown and Sean Baxter. For many years, this duo has been an outlet for both performers to explore the more extreme and severe possibilities of their respective research into the outer limits of extended technique on guitar and percussion.
  • James Rushford (viola and effects) and Joe Talia (percussion and effects)
  • Lazy featuring: David Brown (prepared guitar) and Sean Baxter (percussive detritus)
