Over the past 10 years, USA label 12K has earned a reputation as one of the most eclectic homes for avant-electronics. In April the label celebrates two new releases from some of Australia's finest sound artists and to celebrate this these acts join up for a one off double CD launch in Melbourne. Described by XLR8R as creating a 'subconscious architecture' in his sound works Brisbane based artist Lawrence English's latest LP titled 'A Colour For Autumn' is a record of subtle variation, graded hues and tonal warmth.
Joining him is Sydney's Seaworthy whose latest offering 1897 was recorded in a range of ex-naval bunkers along Sydney's harbour. Exploring minimal compositions their record reflects the emptiness of the bunkers and the eerie quiet that so often descends on the natural world within the depth of winter. Also on the bill is renowned songwriter and ARIA award winner Heinz Riegler - former Not From There/Nightstick frontman who performs a rare solo show of his new material due for release later this year. Songs through a lens that is deeply personal and overtly intimate.
