Tuesday, March 24th @ the Make It Up Club

Where the worlds of avant-classical and improv collide—this week at the MIUC sees the debut of 2 duos incorporating the aesthetics of New Music with the ethics of Free Improvisation. Simon and Mattihas are emerging tallents of Melbourne’s avant-classical scene, both with a passion for spontaneous composition; Brigid Burke is one of Australia’s innovators of the woodwind family, and a seasoned performer of repute, whilst Ollie Bown is a recent arrival to Australia with an uncanny genius for computer music programming.

  • Simon Charles (saxophones) and Mattihas Shack-Arnott (percussion)
  • Brigid Burke (woodwinds) and Ollie Bown (UK) (laptop)
