Maximum Arousal presents:
ACID MOTHERS GURU GURU

Acid Mothers Guru Guru
features Mani Neumeier from the legendary and influential German Krautrock group Guru Guru as well as Kawabata Makoto and Atsushi Tsuyama from Japan's holy Acid Mothers Temple. The result is a fiery fantasy filled, loud/soft, colorful trans-generational psychedelic collaboration.

The Acid Mothers Guru Guru started in a spontaneous session in March of 2006 in Nagoya, Japan. When the improvisation commenced the passionate excitement was clear to all in the room and it was then that this special psychedelic trio began. A Japanese tour was planned, an album was recorded and the 'Psychedelic Navigator' release on Important Records is the fruits of this mutual musical admiration.

While all involved will admit that this project is a dream collaborations it was the Acid Mothers Temple guys who were worshipping Guru Guru in their teens. In the world of Krautrock, which is filled with no shortage of stellar drummers, Mani is right up there among the best of them. He's not Mr. Motorik but instead maintains a very jazzy, busy and often quite tribal percussion style that nonetheless manages to stay heavy and create a consistent wall of rhythm. In combination with the freak-out sounds of Kawabata's Acid Mothers soul collective this group is definitely much more than the sum of its parts!

The Acid Mothers Guru Guru is two generations of psychedelic rock joining forces for the 21st century. This will be their only Melbourne performance & is not to be missed!!!
